Tony Goffredi, LCSW, LAC, therapist and addiction counselor

Hi! I'm Tony Goffredi LCSW, LAC

I'm a therapist who helps people take a look inside to develop the self-awareness they need to disrupt habits they are trying to change and build habits that will have a lasting positive impact on their life.

My Strengths and Talents as a Therapist and Addiction Counselor

My biggest goal as a therapist and addiction counselor is to get more men into therapy. I excel at building rapport with my clients by putting them at ease, ensuring they feel comfortable in the space, and utilizing my fantastic memory to call up the names of people close to them and events that they have gone through in the past. I've been told that "I have the kind of face you just open up to," and I am honored that so many people have felt comfortable enough to do so.

What is Distinct About Me as a Therapist

I have my own lived experience that I have worked hard on and still work hard on to this day. I have been seeing my own therapist for nearly eight years and I will never offer something to you that I haven't tried or practiced myself.

I have had the privilege to work in a methadone clinic helping folks with nothing to their name work through opioid addiction and come out on the other side. This experience was truly a trial by fire, and it taught me many things that have improved my therapeutic skills, patience, and capacity for empathy and compassion.

What I love Most About My Work

I love getting to see the same clients work on themselves over time and help point out the changes that I see from the outside. I love it when a client comes in and tells me a story of how they modeled behavior for someone else and it inspired change. I love going home every night and being able to rest easy knowing that my clients are doing their best and know that no matter what happens between sessions, I will be there to help them process it. Most of all, I love people, and getting to talk with folks day in and day out is such a privilege.

Guiding Principles

My biggest goal is to build a positive therapeutic relationship with every client by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to share their struggles.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor with a focus on strengths-based foundational work & mindfulness techniques.

I was awarded a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and have experience working with anxiety, depression, substance use, & PTSD. I use humor, reasoning, and compassion to clarify clients' needs, goals, and challenges.

I specialize in working with folks 18 and older who are feeling weighed down by analysis paralysis, low self-confidence, and utilizing substance use as a coping skill.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to help clients feel a sense of self-empowerment.

Asking for help is hard, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for those who seek it. I look forward to seeing you grow.

A Path of Gentle Growth to Becoming a Therapist and Addiction Counselor

My journey into clinical social work began with my own personal therapeutic journey and the desire to give back. After working with my therapist for years, I looked back at my progress and realized that large changes start with small, intentional bites.

After embarking on a four-year quest involving graduate school and all of the requirements for licensure, I have dedicated my practice to creating a space for my clients to get to know themselves at a deeper level and find inspiration for change.

My approach is warm and humorous, but I am not afraid to challenge my clients. My hopes are that together, we will create a strong therapeutic alliance that allows you to be vulnerable and raw to spark true growth.

I am a Colorado native and outside of therapy, you can find me in the gym, playing pickleball, or playing music with friends.
