Frequent Asked Questions
How do I get started with therapy?
The first step is to reach out via the contact form or email. We'll schedule a free, 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and see if we're a good fit. I cater my methods differently to match each client's needs and there is no one-size-fits-all.
How long is a typical session?
Standard individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. This allows for meaningful exploration while fitting comfortably into a professional schedule.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, Small Bites Therapy is an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with monthly superbills for potential insurance reimbursement.
What should I expect in the first session?
The initial session focuses on gathering history and understanding your goals. It's a way for both of us to build the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. You never have to answer questions you are uncomfortable with.
How much does a session cost?
A 50-minute session costs $160. I do offer sliding scale options for clients who qualify, although I have limited sliding scale availability based on my caseload.
Do you record sessions?
No, I do not record sessions. Although Colorado law allows one party to record without consent of the other party, I do not engage in this practice.
Can I switch between online and in-person?
Yes, I offer a flexible hybrid approach, attending in-person for some sessions and utilizing our secure online portal for others based on your schedule.
Do you have a late cancel policy?
Yes, I do. If you cancel within 24 hours of our scheduled appointment, you will be charged $100 as a late cancellation fee. If you cancel before the 24 hour window, there is no late fee charge.
